Great Falls’ own Leo “Bushido” Bercier will face off against Nate Cook in the main event of Intense Championship Fighting 14, presented by 221 Industries, at the Aug. 1 night show of the Montana State Fair.

ICF 14 marks the first time that MMA fights have headlined one of the coveted night show spots in the Pacific Steel & Recycling Four Seasons Arena at the fair — and Bercier is proud to be part of the group making history.

“Headlining the first ever MMA show during the State Fair of the greatest state in the country, makes me wanna boot, scoot, and boogie all over my opponent,” Bercier said. “Montana is strong, and 221 Industries and ICF gives us Montanans a damn good platform to show the rest of them what we’re made of!”

“It’s a real honor to be the first ever MMA promotion to be granted an opportunity to hold our show at the State Fair, I am so excited for the fights, and for the fans to enjoy our national brand we have established,” said 221 CEO and ICF President Cory Smith in a news release.

In addition to Bercier and Cook, several of the top amateur talent in the state will be looking for victories on the biggest stage MMA has ever been on in Montana, including University of Great Falls wrestler Michael Ruiz, fan favorite and knockout artist Sam Atkins, Brandon Caldwell, Taylor Ibsen and Gauge Saunders.

“Some of these guys are the next big names to go pro in the future, you can expect some all-out brawls in that cage, with some awesome talent displayed,” Smith said.

Doors to the arena open up at 8 p.m. Friday, with fights starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $23 in advance or $25 at the door, and are available at www.goexpopark.com or at the box office at the State Fair.
