Mixed Martial Arts fighting comes to Lewistown this weekend at the inaugural Grudgement Day event. The rumble takes place Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Lewistown Raceway and will raise money for Montana veterans.

The main event sees Tim “Red Hawk” Welch taking on Billy “The Kid” Martin. Welch is 12-5 as a professional and is a former Bellator, Fight Master and The Ultimate Fighter Competitor from Great Falls. Martin, 19-7 as a professional, is a multiple-promotions champion as well. One of Martin’s more notable victories came in December of 2014 when he defeated Lloyd Woodard via a TKO.

This match will be Welch’s first of 2016, as he has been nursing an injury as of late but appears fully recovered and ready for what’s expected to be a highly competitive match against Martin.

Glen Cislo and Chris Sowell square off in a three-round boxing match, also, along with Tommy McMillen making his MMA debut against Christopher TwoMoons. Cody “The Assassin” Vukasin and Ruben Roundstone will fight in an MMA match, as well.

The event will benefit, as stated above, the Montana Veterans Foundation and local families who have lost veterans to suicide. The Montana Veterans Foundation’s mission is to “assist homeless veterans (or veterans at risk of homelessness) by improving their quality of life and by providing comprehensive support which enables veterans to achieve greater self sufficiency.

The Foundation will provide a safe, secure living environment—the Willis Cruse House transitional living facility—as well as personal and program assistance and access to a wide range of coordinated transition services.

Created by veterans for veterans, the Montana Veterans Foundation’s goal is to offer integrated, holistic, clinically sound, and fiscally responsible human services to the veteran population.”

Grudgement Day is being promoted by Fusion Fight League out of Billings. After the fights, Jared Stewart will perform live in concert. Stewart, a musician from the Crow Agency, later this summer will be performing on the same stage as Ziggy Marley at the 2016 Magic City Blues festival in Billings.

Ticketing information for the event is available by calling 406-697-0542.
