Great Falls gets weird Saturday at inaugural Avant Garden
“There’s never anything to do in Great Falls.”
If you’ve lived in Great Falls for any amount of time, you’ve likely heard people utter this phrase, or ones similar to it, without even thinking twice.
I call them blindwalkers. Mostly because you have to be blind not to see all of the array of options for entertainment our town provides.
If you’ve fallen into the blindwalker trap, it happens from time to time, this weekend there’s an event for you to help you escape without any of your Facebook followers needing to know. It features a group of talented entertainers coming together to provide an evening of something different.
The inaugural “Avant Garden” runs Saturday starting at 9:30 p.m. at the Back Alley Pub. (Located behind JJ’s Bakery).
The event, organized by Tyson and Sara Habein, is described as “Odd, creative, surreal, downright different or strange. Show us the weirdest music Great Falls has to offer. Show us what you’ve got. There will be a 20-30 minute set for each performer. Call it an open mic of weirdness.”
The people scheduled to perform thus far are Rough Love, Nosight, Lord Kirkus and Gabriel Vasichek. Anyone else with something odd or interesting to add to the mix is welcome to step up and perform, as well.
And, hey, it’s also free to attend.
Check out more information at the Facebook event page. Check below for a few song samples from some of the scheduled performers, as well!
