Funeral for Cascade County Deputy Joe Dunn set for Thursday
Cascade County Sheriff John Edwards announced via Facebook this afternoon that the funeral of Deputy Joe Dunn will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Four Seasons Arena at Montana ExpoPark.
Edwards states in the post,
” His burial will be at Highland Cemetery with military and law enforcement honors. There will be a procession but the details on the route have not been finalized. The public is welcome to attend and pay their respects. Follow my page, our Sheriffs Office Page, and watch the news or read the paper for details as I will be sending out a media release with further details. For our LE family state wide and nation wide, a teletype message will also be sent when finalized.”
The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office ID’ed Dunn, 33, on Friday as the deputy who was killed in the line of duty Thursday. He was hit by a vehicle that law enforcement officers east of Great Falls were chasing.
Next Friday, there also will be an event titled “Lights On for Deputy Joe Dunn.” People wishing to participate can shine a blue light outside their home in honor of Deputy Dunn. Check out more info about the event here.
There also is a Heroes Memorial Foundation page set up for people wishing to donate to Dunn’s family or leave their respects and/or prayers. You can access that site here.
