NDM Productions this weekend is seeking young actors for “Willy Wonka”
After a successful premiere in the Great Falls theater scene with “Wizard of Oz,” NDM Productions returns with another beloved story this spring in “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
Starting tomorrow, the local theater group will be searching for young actors to participate in the production, which also serves as an eight-week educational opportunity.
Auditions will be held Thursday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. All auditions will be held at the NDM Productions office located at 2705 16th Ave. S in Great Falls, located in the same building as Dr. Steve Voy.
Ali Jo Sheets and Zachary Dennis are searching for children in grades 3 through 12. They ask that you come prepared with a short song no longer than a minute to a minute and a half that can be sung a cappella or with a recorded accompaniment. Auditioners must be prepared to move around and dance as well.
Young actors and actresses will work over the course of eight weeks to establish a complete ensemble in both the technical and performance side the theater world.
Upon being accepted into the program, rehearsals will run 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Monday through Thursday starting on Feb. 2, until opening night on March 26. The show also runs March 27 and 28.
Tuition for the program is $185 for each young actor. For homes with multiple actors, each additional tuition is $150 per person. The cost covers the 28 production rehearsals, three technical/dress rehearsals and the four performances.
