Turner, best known for his hit songs “Why Don’t We Just Dance,” “Long Black Train” and his latest single “Lay Low” performs at Centene on Sept. 2. He also will play in Billings on Sept. 3 at the Alberta Bair Theater and in Dillon on Sept. 6 at the Jaycee Rodeo,
Tickets to see him in Great Falls go on sale on Friday and are $30 for stadium seating, $40 for field seating.
According to the website Tasteofcountry.com Turner’s breakout song “Long Black Train,” “is to Turner what ‘Friends in Low Places’ is to Garth Brooks. No one was better fitted to deliver this message that the then 26-year-old from South Carolina. It was his breakout song, eventually going gold during a transition from physical to digital singles.”
‘Rolling Stone’ magazine says that Turner’s forthcoming album is expected to come out sometime this year. Turner told the magazine that ‘Lay Low’ is a song about the times when you want to find a spot to hide away and be with the one you love.
“Laying low is something Jennifer and I love to do,” Turner said. “We most always have to make the time to do it, because as you can imagine, we don’t just have ample amounts of idle time. I related to this song immediately because it painted a mental picture of our cabin and how secluded it is. It’s where we go to get away from it all and reconnect with each other; to be reminded of what’s most important.”
