Hemlock, P.M.F., Piranha Dog play a free show in Great Falls on Saturday
Fresh off of a successful Kickstarter campaign to record it’s new album, heavy-metal band Hemlock comes to Great Falls this weekend to play a free show. Also performing are openers Planet Motherfucker, Piranha Dog and more.
The music starts Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Hideout Lounge.
Hemlock started it’s Kickstarter in January and raised more than $2,000 to record it’s new album “Mouth of the Swine” in Hollywood, Calif.
Helping them out were producer Mikey Doling and Dave Fortman on mixing. Doling has worked with such bands as Snot, Soulfly and Channel Zero while Fortman has worked with bands such as Slipknot, Godsmack, Mudvayne, Otep, Down and many others.
Hemlock describes it’s sound as, “a heavy blend of chugging riffs, deep bass tones, rhythmic grooves and catchy ass lyrics, with a haberdash of melody mixed in. The lyrics are always creative and positive, and the songs have lots of scream alongs and hooks.”
Hemlock got it’s start way back in 1993 and have released 8 full-length albums before “Mouth of the Swine.” They tour the U.S. and Canada extensively and also have toured Europe and Japan recently, also. Some of the groups they’ve played with over the years include Slayer, Slipknot, Ministry,Meshuggah, Otep, Disturbed, Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Chimiara, Snot, Devil Driver, Machine Head, Mastodon and tons more.
Planet Motherfucker, or P.M.F., is a death-metal band from Texas while Piranha Dog is a stoner/sludge/progressive metal band from Great Falls.
